For the last class in the Stanford Mechatronics sequence, we were challenged to build a motorboat with a wireless control board.
I found an old lighting control board on craigslist. We hacked our way through its original electronics, salvaged what parts we could (mainly sliding potentiometers) and re-worked the board into a futuristic boat controller and MIDI sound board.
The board was controlled with a TIVA and communicated with a TIVA on the boat via XBee. We also used a PIC for sensor control.
