Toy Product Design 2.00b is a hands-on project-based design course I took in my freshman spring semester. This course was an introduction to the product design process with a focus on designing for play and entertainment. We were introduced to the product development process, including: determining customer needs; brainstorming; estimation; sketching; graphic design; industrial design drawing; sketch modeling; concept development; design aesthetics; detailed design; prototyping; and written, visual, and oral communication
We worked in a team of 6 students and two mentors to design and prototype new toys under our year's theme of "In the Dark". Our final project was a comforter fitted with hardy air tubes. When inflated, the comforter transformed into a tent with plenty of room for activities.
We presented our final product in a presentation attended by industry representatives, faculty and peers. I also did the graphic design for this project.
